All About Gerut Facelift, give back your youngness

If general anesthesia and its side effects is one of the reasons you are having second thoughts about getting a regular facelift, then there is good news for you. A new facelift procedure, called as the Gerut Lift has recently been sweeping the plastic surgery world and patients now have a better option when it comes to face lifting procedures. So what is a Gerut lift and how does it work?

This new facelift technique was invented by Dr. Zachary Gerut, a plastic surgeon from Long Island, New York. Dr. Gerut observed that most liposuction operation does not require general anesthesia and most patients are awake when they get the procedure. He wondered if same can be done with face lift procedures, and so he started innovating ways to improve this popular cosmetic enhancement. After years of innovations and extensive research, he developed and perfected the Gerut Lift.

The Gerut lift utilizes special techniques and special procedures. The surgery starts by injecting a type of Novocain– with a very thin injection to make it totally painless – to numb the face. A special apparatus is also used to help the Novocain spread slowly throughout the face to help avoid any type of discomfort. This usually needs half an hour to take full effect, and the facelift surgery starts after that.

The patient stays awake throughout the procedure and he or she may talk to the surgeon or listen to music, whichever feels comfortable. And if the patient chooses so, valium may be given orally or through an IV to make him or her more comfortable.

Although it uses a new technique in terms of anesthesia, a patient undergoing this cosmetic treatment will still receive a full facial lift, and follow the same procedure as any regular facelift, like the pulling and trimming of muscles and skin. It does have a lot of advantages, aside from staying awake during the procedure and not getting the typical general anesthesia side-effects. Moreover, apart from being comfortable and painless, the results are long lasting.

With Gerut lift, there is no need for dressing or gauze masks after the procedure, no need to worry about less swelling and bruising, and the patient can resume normal activities after three days.
